A mobile bottom navigation bar for FlatBB.
What it does
On screens up to 720px wide, the plugin appends a fixed five-item bar to the bottom of every public page:
- Home (
/) - Latest (
/latest) - New topic (
/new-topic) - Notifications (
/notifications; guests are sent to the login page and back) - Account (
/settings) or Sign in for guests
The current section is highlighted from current_path(). On sign-in the notification item carries a solid red count badge taken from the user row the layout already loaded (notifications_unread()), so the plugin adds no query.
The bar is hidden above 720px. It uses only CSS variables (--panel, --line, --brand, --brand-soft, --danger, --radius-pill), respects env(safe-area-inset-bottom) and sits below the top bar, dropdowns and the fullscreen editor in the stacking order. The page gets enough bottom padding (through :has(.tabre-tabbar)) that the last content and sticky form buttons are not covered, and sticky form actions are lifted above the bar.
Admin and setup pages are skipped, and the whole bar is omitted when the setting is off. No JavaScript is needed.
