A short Markdown signature under every post a member writes.

What it does

  • Adds a Signature tab to Settings → Preferences.
  • The tab is part of the normal settings form: the core provides the CSRF token and the Save button, the plugin only adds the textarea and saves it on user.settings_post.
  • The signature is stored in plugin_tabre_signature_signatures, one row per member, and updated with an upsert.
  • On a topic page, topic.posts loads the signatures of all authors in the post stream in one query and attaches them to the posts. The in-loop region region.post.content_after only renders the attached value through md(); it never queries the database.
  • An empty field removes the signature.

Settings

Admin → Plugins → Signature

  • Maximum signature length — characters, including Markdown. Default 500, range 0–1000; 0 means no limit. Longer submissions are refused with a message and nothing is saved.
  • Show signatures under posts — default on. Turning it off hides every signature without deleting the stored text, and skips the signature query on topic pages.

Notes

  • Markdown is rendered with the core md() renderer; the raw text is never printed as HTML.
  • Only the plugin's own table is created. Uninstalling the plugin drops it.
  • The signature card uses core CSS variables (--panel-2, --line-soft, --radius-sm) so it follows the active theme.
